We aim for ‘a world without conflict and deficiency.’
The purpose of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future is to follow and further develop the achievement and philosophy of Ban Ki-Moon, the 8th Secretary General of United Nations for peace and security, development, and human rights and to contribute to make a better future with no more conflict and deficiency by realizing the values of unification, communication and coexistence, and dedication.
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation
We will practice the values of integration, communication, coexistence and dedication.
- First, we will carry out three-dimensional activities at home and abroad to develop and spread the philosophy and vision of the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon. To this end, we will devote our passion to academic research and policy proposal activities to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, implement the Paris Climate Agreement, and ensure that all people enjoy human rights as a universal human value.
- Second, we will focus on establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula and promoting peace in Northeast Asia and the world through this.
- Third, women, youth, and children should not be treated discriminatoryly under any circumstances. We will actively engage in activities to establish future-oriented values regarding the vision of the future that should be given to them and the human rights and interests that they should enjoy.
- Fourth, we will create and implement various support programs as well as activities to eradicate poverty and disease in developing countries.
- Fifth, we will play a leading role in nurturing talent and educating global citizens through cooperative activities with various international organizations, including the United Nations, domestic and international civic groups, academic groups, and educational institutions.
